About Us

Words of Mercy is a small company in Pennsylvania created to give children a positive outlook, and show them opportunities where they can participate in making their world better. As parents and activists, our books focus on the importance of caring for one another and preserving the earth we live in, thus providing families with enriched reading experiences.

A portion of the proceeds from each book are donated to worthy causes benefitting children. We are dedicated to making the world a better place for everyone – one page at a time.

In My Own World

"With stunning imagery and creative prose, Michelle has captured the very essence of a unique, beloved, “special” child. The imagination that Michelle brings to this artistic and poetic fete, serves as a powerful reminder that each of us has unique gifts, talents, and contributions to make during our short journeys here."

Wildlife Rescue Rangers

"My mother taught me that preserving the earth is everyone’s responsibility. I have passed this lesson on to my own child. Kids, you can make a difference. Learn as much as you can about nature, watch out for these fragile creatures, and share important information about wildlife with others. This book will guide you through the process, and you will be on your way to becoming a Wildlife Rescue Ranger."

Lavinia’s Window

For teenagers interested in coming of age literature, with a strong female character this book is a must read.

Lavinia’s Window chronicles the Spencer and Rexford families from Lavinia Spencer Rexford’s point of view. Lavinia is raised by her Grandmama after her mother dies in childbirth and her father abandons her. For her twelfth birthday, Grandmama gives her a journal asking Lavinia to focus on the seven heavenly virtues for the next year. Part of the Spencer family tradition is to use these virtues in pursuit of a grand adventure allowing Lavinia to transition from a child to young lady. Lavinia’s focus on the seven virtues takes her on a life journey that is not only filled with happiness and laughter, but pain and sorrow.

Weisen portrays the Victorian era almost flawlessly, with descriptions so vivid that the reader feels as though they are actually living the story.

Lavinia’s Heart

"This is a captivating novel for girls of all ages. I couldn’t put it down. It’s a book you will want to curl up with in your favorite rocking chair on a cold, rainy day. It is especially relevant for mothers and their pre-teen or young adult daughters, who will enjoy reading it together. It demonstrates the true meaning of family values without being preachy. Michelle Weisen weaves a magical tale that will leave it’s imprint on your heart."
